Exhibition manager Tess Mason says the diversity of PAICE 2010 was also helped by the return of several exhibitors who had taken a break of a year or more. “We are welcoming the return of the Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Airlines and we are also pleased to see the Hong Kong Tourism Board back at PAICE after a few years’ absence. As well as this Air New Zealand is returning to the expo,’ Mason says. In total, there are more than 100 exhibitors from Australia, the Pacific Islands, Asia and beyond. Agents invited to keep up with the PAICE The Pacific Area Incentives and Conferences Expo (PAICE 2010) is being held at SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre on September 15. While the major focus is on offshore business tourism and events it is also an opportunity for retail travel agents -especially those involved with corporate travel - and wholesalers to catch up with suppliers from Australia, the pacific islands, Asia and beyond. With more than 80 exhibitors, it is one of New Zealand's largest travel trade events in any sector. The organisers of PAICE 2010 say that over the years they have welcomed an increasing number of travel agents, as well as wedding planners, and special interest and sports tour operators. Entry is free and a limited number of hosted buyer positions are available for qualified applicants from outside Auckland. Last stands on sale for PAICE 2010 The Pacific Area Incentives and Conferences Expo (PAICE 2010) is again set to sell out, with only 18 stands still available two months out from the expo. Exhibition manager Tess Mason says many of the major destinational stands, such as Cook Islands, New Caledonia and Fiji are now starting to take shape. The uptake from Australia has been particularly strong, with Queensland and Victoria again leading the way. ‘Another pleasing aspect is that we have some great new exhibitors – including Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Cathay Pacific and Business Events Tasmania.’ PAICE 2010 is being held on September 15 on Level 5 of SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre. Mason says that every year PAICE has been held it has sold out, and this year will be no exception. ‘Our advice to anyone intending to exhibit at PAICE 2010 is to be in touch quickly to avoid disappointment,’ she adds. Meantime, early registrations from buyers are also tracking well. A number of leading conference and incentive organisers from outside Auckland have already applied to be hosted buyers, and local registrations are building steadily. Buyers can register, and see a list of exhibitors, at www.paicexpo.co.nz Anyone wishing to purchase a stand at PAICE 2010 should contact Tess Mason, ph: 0064 9 818 7807 email: tess@promag.co.nz Media enquiries to Stu Freeman ph: 0064 9 818 7807 email: stu@promag.co.nz |

Jane Scribner, of Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), says the destination is well placed to meet the needs and aspirations of meeting, conference and incentive planners and delegates out of New Zealand. ‘From world class conference facilities to evening entertainment, Hong Kong is an excellent choice for business, rewards and relaxation,’ she says. ‘It’s a city with an ever changing kaleidoscope of culture, festivals, nightlife and attractions, offering plenty of inspiration for meeting planners and incentive travellers.’

Tasmania picks up PAICE Tasmania will be exhibiting at the Pacific Area Incentives and Conferences Expo (PAICE) for the first time in 2010. PAICE traditionally attracts a large number of exhibitors from across the Tasman and this latest development reflects Tasmania’s growing emphasis on the business events sector. The Tasmanian Visitor Survey (TVS) has recorded an increase of 24% in visitors attending business related events in Tasmania. The Tasmanian Convention Bureau marketing manager Claire McLaren says PAICE is a perfect fit for the state. ‘Tasmania is well known as a destination for association conferences and feedback from New Zealand based clients has been exceptional. It is clear that Tasmania is becoming a destination of choice for the New Zealand market.’ |
